Hey All...I know that this subject has been beat to death, but in resealing my 2015 Minnie Winnie 27Q, I found a game changer. Having been involved with cars since 11, I am much older now, there is a paint prep cleaner that is available to the public from automotive paint suppliers,(not all, but most)kept in the back room and called Grow Automotive H.E.T. 1705 which is killer to removing caulking. You still have to scrape, massage, and cuss at removing the caulking, but the cleanup and ready for prep is much easier. Grow 1705 does not damage the paint, any chrome, powder coating, or baked on paint. It cleans. Still need a little arm into it, but it cleans. No, I am not a Grow salesman or dealer or promoter...just a retired carpenter who enjoys working smarter, not harder. Would like to see that this post gets into the proper forum for all of you to enjoy...

Hi Ronzo,
You are in the correct category.
Here is the MSDS
This product contains three ingredients:

  1. Solvent naphtha (petroleum), medium aliph.
  2. toluene
  3. Isopropyl alcohol
I would recommend the use of butyl rubber gloves and an organic respirator when using this product. Normally, just to patch self-leveling sealant, Isopropyl alcohol is adequate. If you are removing all self-leveling sealant, keep in mind that this stuff also dissolves the underlying silicone sealant, and may weaken the bonding of the roof panels to the aluminum extrusions.
