Drove this route in early July. Nice grade and alignment. Speed limit 75, but we were usually at 65. A couple of areas where we slowed to the upper 50s, but nothing too steep. Weather was not bad, high in the upper 90s, but most of the day was in the upper 80s. We went all morning with just dash vent, then turned on the dash AC in the afternoon. We did not use the generator for house AC.
That part of I-10 in eastern Arizona was ridiculously bumpy. Not teeth-rattling bumpy, but very uncomfortable in areas, especially the right lane. Rest areas were plentiful, and there were signs showing how many big-rig spots were available at the next 3 rest areas.
On the other hand, except for just a couple of small areas, New Mexico's portion of I-10 eastbound was baby's butt smooth. In several areas, there were a series of signs talking about what to do in the event of a severe dust storm. Basically, pull all the way off onto the shoulder, turn your engine off, and any lights as well.
We didn't actually drive on any part of Texas's I-10 - we cut off east of Las Cruces and came into Fort Bliss from the north on US-54.
