Specifically, we drove from the Kentucky Horse Park to Scott AFB.
Overall one of the nicest day's of driving we've had in 6 weeks on the road.
From Lexington to the I-57 interchange, the roadway was smooth, 3 lanes and really nice to drive on. The pavement surface material changes to poured concrete while you're on the co-signed 64/57, then goes back to asphalt when back on 64 by itself.
About 45 min west of Lexington, the highway narrows to just 2 lanes in each direction due to long-term construction, and the right lane is partially on the shoulder, but all traffic was at the speed limit, and signs indicate that trucks are to use the left lane.
In Indiana, around MP 68, the roadway was reduced to one lane in each direction for about a mile due to long term bridge work.
Leaving Indiana at MP1, westbound traffic crosses over to the eastbound side as the westbound span is being replaced.
Around MP 93 in Illinois, eastbound traffic crossed to the westbound side for about 10 miles for eastbound road surface replacement.
Overall the Illinois portion of I-64 was a very smooth surface.
