ride quality of 2013 Merdian 36m

We are looking buying a 2013 Meridian
We like the 36m floor plan
Currently we drive a 40' raised rail Freightliner chassis with 350 Cat motor
Coach is a 4055 Tuscany and handles great
will the shorter wheelbase on the 36m make for a lot choppier ride
our local dealer feels the maxxum chassis will offset some of this ride difference
we would appreciate your input

I have a Winnebago Journey 2012 36m We bought it new on 11/11/11 and have put 7500 miles on it and camped in it 105 days.

The ride is excellent, we traded up from a gasser. It was a 2008 Winnebago Voyage with a Ford V10.

We have a 2013 34' Meridian, with the Maxum chassis. The ride seems fine, we haven't noticed any choppiness due to short wheelbase.

I upgraded from a class C, so the 36M ride quality is much improved. I don't have any issues with the drive-ability. Take one on an extended test drive and compare for your self.

We have the Tour with the Maxum chassis and find the ride and handling is great. plus the added advantage of that extra basement storage

Just closed a deal for a 2013. 36M our first motor home at the Tampa

Super show. Been looking for almost 3 years and the DW walked in

To a 36M with the table and chairs in place of the dinette and says

Buy it. Picking it up on the 30th , life is good . Any ideas about

What to look for on the walk through ?

Welcome to the club, I can not think of any particular thing to look for just pay attention when they walk you through it and take tons of notes.

My thoughts:

Exterior:

-Check paint for any dull areas where clear coat runs were wet sanded by not buffed.
-Top latch on entry door which keeps it open.
-Adjacent compartment doors for edge rubbing.
-Ensure fuel fill key locks are tight on doors.
-Patio awning adjusted for proper draining of water.
-Marks on wheels.
-Blemishes on panels which were painted over but show thru.

Interior:
-Slide roller scratches on tile.
-Excessively rough router marks on cabinet doors.
-Alignment of all cabinet doors.
-Check all latching mechanisms on doors/drawers.
-Split wood.
-Ease of opening island cabinet.
-Any areas on ceiling which look patched.
-Ensure return ceiling vents are pointed toward large slide.

I would ask when the coach was delivered from factory, to see if close undercarriage
inspection might be required.

I would ask if they can provide you with a dump of the engines computer data.

New 36M

Great Ideas , should be a good week will pick up my new Coach on 30th and stay with Lazy days till Sunday to check out all the systems. I have read in the book that when the coach is parked in storage to disconect shore power and turn off the coach and chassis Battery disconect. any advice on that. seams most leave a trickel charger on from what I have seen ?
