Hi all! I have heard lots of stories about why you can not put bike racks on the back of a Winnebago view due to safety of the bikes during cross country travel. Does anyone have advice about what (if any) racks can safely hold two e bikes?

Thank you!

We are using a 1UP USA Super Duty rack.
It is RV rated and 100lbs/tray. We have 2 trays.
We have used it for about 12k miles. Purchased 5/22
We also have their wheel savers and a front wheel stabilizer on the e-bike. I’m not sure if the wheel stabilizer is necessary, but I tried it and have left it on.
The e-bike is 54lbs. and the standard Trek is about 30lbs.
We have the wheel locks for each wheel.
We have a secondary rear view camera that I can turn on while in motion and when I watch them, there is some movement but not extreme. No part of the rack touches anything except rubber on the bikes.
We have not had any damage to the bikes from being on the racks. They get dirty though.
The rack is kind of high because of the height of the hitch, but we can lift them up fairly easily. 2 of us lift the e-bike together. They make a ramp, but we have not seen the need for it.

Also use 1up on the back of our Minnie 2529RG. Extremely well engineered product. I too use a camera to monitor the movement and so far nothing out of the ordinary has happened. I have the ramp and only use it occasionally. Our 1up was purchased in 2022 and they have made further improvements since then. Again, extremely well engineered product.

Online retailer eTrailer has extensive rating info for bike racks for e-bikes behind Cars, Motorhomes and Trailers.

Search there and scroll down to see ratings for each rack you’re interested in.

Here’s a link to a Swagman that meets these requirements:

And here’s a photo of the ratings shown on eTrailer that you should look for to find the right rack:

E bike rack and bikes

We have an excellent rack for our two e bikes. I can remove the batteries and stow them toward underneath in 2019 view.
Biggest item I seen was getting the weight correct in maximum load weight. Weighing the front axle/rear axle full loaded with us as a couple on board. That takes some doing if you are adding 140 lbs just for the bikes and rack. Unless owners are overloading??? What do you say?

We also have an Itasca Navion (same as W'bago View). We have a 1UP USA Super Duty Double rack that hold both of our Pedego Ebikes (each weigh 55-60 lbs.). Excellent engineered rack. We bought it a couple years ago and I see they now have "new, improved" racks. Consider, as we did, getting the one-pice ramp. It makes loading/unloading easier.

Racks for ebike

We have a 2016 Itasca Cambria. We have a Black Widow motorcycle carrier rated for 400 pounds on the back and carry a 150cc Vespa. The carrier is about 50# and the scooter is 260#. I watch the weight and balance and stay in spec. I got a front mount 2 in receiver from e-Trailer that was made to fit the Ford E450 chassis. My wife's ebike goes there on the bike carrier. I take the battery out to charge and the bike does not obstruct airflow to the engine and radiator. The real issue of weight on the back hitch is due to its distance from the rear axle. You have a long lever arm there that is lifting the front end up. The mechanics of a front hitch, which is close to its fulcrum point, are much better. I wish the rear axle was about 4 feet further back.
Black Widow is a highly rated brand for these carriers. They also have several for bikes and bikes. They sell direct or on Amazon.

We have a 1UP heavy duty double rack for out ebikes which weigh about 55lbs.each with the batteries installed. We probably have a couple of thousand miles hauling our bikes on the 1Up rack. No problem at all

Look at 1Up Heavy duty ebike rack. We've been running with our double Ebikes for close to 5 years now.
Works great. Each bike around 55lbs. with the battery installed. 1UP racks are the only racks that show as approved to use on RV's
