Have 2022 Adventurer 29B with Sony Radio Model XAV-AX3000. Has anyone swapped it out for something with a larger display and maybe a tilt feature so passenger can use it.

The important thing to realize is that Winnebago changes the brand and model "Radio" they install in their motorhomes all the time. Yes, it can be year to year.

So, the vast majority of us have zero idea what radio you have installed from the factory and as a result, have zero idea what possibly might be a likely replacement.

How many members here have a 2022 Adventurer 29B? I don't know, maybe 5?? How many of them have changed or even wanted to change their OEM radio??? Impossible to tell. Perhaps one, two if you're lucky.

So, your question is not one we can answer here very easily.

If Winnebago always used the same radio year after year in model after model it would be easier to find an answer.

What we've learned is folks that want to change things like this are pretty much on their own.

My standard response is to tell folks to either take their RV to a local Car Audio installer OR to call Crutchfield. Those are the folks that can take your current radio model number and tell you what other radios have the same sizing and similar connections.

Best of luck!

I have a 2022 Vista 29V but I believe it’s the same dash. I have the Sony radio. I haven’t tried to change it out but did have it removed for service behind the dash. The molded Winnebago dash panel fits “ around “ the radio face. If you change the radio you may need to modify that dash panel console to fit a larger head unit. Hope this helps.

The easiest way for DIY person with limited skills would be to upgrade to higher level model with the larges screen available from same Head unit Mfg. currently in place. Usually this means the wiring is plug & play. Places like Crutchfield has very good info, and decent support in replacement units.

Currently my many hours of research and taking apart the center console surround off of my 2020 Vista with a basic entry level Pioneer head unit and tiny 6" screen, If I want a much bigger display screen I have to change to something different than Pioneer or any of the well known Car audio Mfg, offer.

While I have not Purchased this unit yet I'm on the verge of doing so Right now TOP of my list is the Eonon UA12S Plus-6G ($ 300.00) Double Din Android Head Unit with a 10.1" Floating Screen (Tilt up, Down, Left & Right). Runs Android 13 Has 6gb Ram & 64gb Rom. Apple Car Play, Android Auto, downside is this will NOT be plug & Play as there are not adapters I have found for the Wiring to either the Winnebago OR a Pioneer Modular Plug. I will need to purchase a inexpensive modular DIN plug with wires ($ 10.00 approx) and do my own wiring to the Winnebago Plug.

I believe I can use a Bluetooth aftermarket steering wheel remote control for vrios functions (My 2020 Vist does not have any Steering wheel controls for the pioneer head unit). There are a lot of options for the Bluetooth Remote and inexpensive $ 30.00 +/- depending a few different features or looks.

Again Have not purchased but top of list for form, features etc. Cost wise this is about 1/3 the cost if I went with a something else from Pioneer of other well known Car Audio brands but still a small size display screen.

if the current head unit is a Double Din (Radio Chassis & display size), you can get a double din Head unit with a "Floating" Display screen of larger size and not having to modify the current dash cutout.

Good to know if this unit fails. I’m old school, and my 2022 Vista is the newest vehicle we own. My daily driver is a 21 year old Pontiac with the original radio!!!
I only replace when something breaks!
Thanks again!
