Question about 2025 EKKO Rearview Mirror Camera (not reverse cam)

I just picked up my 2025 Winnebago EKKO from the dealer after having the rearview mirror camera replaced — not the reverse/backup camera that comes on in reverse, but the digital rearview camera that's always on while driving (the one that displays in the mirror).

When I first picked up the EKKO back in February, it looked like a pressure washer may have damaged the rearview cam (see my other post). The image started out hazy, then progressively got worse until it finally went out completely. Eventually the mirror just displayed “No Camera.”

The dealer replaced the camera, but now they’re saying the system still won’t work and that it must be a Mercedes issue.

I can't find anything about this camera system in the Mercedes manual or the Winnebago manual, and as far as I understand, this is a Winnebago-installed system — not something Mercedes provides on the Sprinter chassis.

Does what Dealer is saying make sense? Has anyone else run into this? How should I proceed

No experience with the system so just some thoughts that fit coax problems at times.
Your mention of power washing started a chain of thought. The big question is how it may/may not apply??
When you have something that dies slowly, I don't think of that as "normal". But if a pressure washer can force water into places it normally doesn't go, that opens up some odd things.
Before saying the camera or the front unit are bad, I might want to verify that there is not a basic problem with water getting into the coax connection near the outside camera!
A bit of water that gradually corroded the connection to make it go open, maybe?
I can certainly see a problem with each warranty saying they are good but neither actually checking the coax for quality!
To actually test the coax, it likely requires it to be open at both ends. At that point, one can do simple meter checks for shorts between inner wire and outer sheath. Much like two simple wires that run under the same cover?

But the problem likely comes in when one person looks at the camera and another looks at the front unit.
That can mean that neither actually tests the coax where the problem hides!
They may be better than I'm thinking but my experience with RV repair has not been something to build confidence!

If we were to guess that the coax connector near the outside is bad, one semi-quick way to go is to cut that connector off and replace it with a new one. But that is assuming there is enough extra coax to make that kind of move practical.

No way a sure idea but just my first thoughts of what "might" be true!

Thank you so much Morich, That makes a ton of sense, yea its like the Mirror is not getting a signal and the Camera is new So, seems so logical to be the Connectors or cables, thanks again!!

Hello Madden One. Did you ever find a solution to this issue? I had the exact same thing happen to me... No preasure washer but within days of picking up my new 2025 Sprinter Ekko the camera became hazy like there was moisture in it then went out completely.

La Mesa replaced it after two 1 hour trips each way up to Port St. Lucie & back. Then said it has to be calibrated by Mercedes. Took it to Mercedes they said yeah the rearview mirror camera (not the reverse camera in the dash) has nothing to do with them. I just called Winnebego direct for answers. They said the dealer never called us to discuss this issue as we have very detailed logs / notes of any calls on your vehicle. They said they'd only discuss it with an authorized service center... Going in circles... La Mesa & Mercedes pointing the finger at each other.. Winnebago not talking to the end user... Great thanks...
