Likely to be decals. How to remove is often discussed and part of that depends on what RV surface and what tools you have on hand. There is a wheel made for decal removal and I tried it one time with somewhat okay results. It kind of rolls the decal up but tends to leave a fair amount of adhesive left over to scrub off and that is a long term ugly process!
So it can be done but not one I wanted to do again?
But then we also found getting the new to cover the weathered area left after we got the decals off was a trick as we had long decals and low experience putting the new exactly right to cover the area not weathered.
By the time we got done, we were thinking we would have been better to design and have built a new decal that was bigger to cover us for the places where we were never able to get it quite right on placement!
Thought about some of the ready made, off the shelf decals that might fit your style and be much easier to slap over the space left after getting the existing removed?
In our case, we had a definite idea that not being the original decal pattern on a 20 year old RV was not going to be a big factor!
Note that OEM decals can be incredibly expensive if they have to set up and make them one at a time for you!
