I have a 2011 vista 36d class A motorhome. I have had it for about 2 years. After a removal ent camping trip my driver's side rear jack would not retract. We got it most of the way up by opening the solenoid. IT did not retract all the way. The springs have been replaced within the last year. It will not move up or down with the controls on the dash. It will not move with auto level or auto store or with the individual buttons.

Where should I start?

I've had my share of difficulties with these HWH leveling systems. A call to the tech support guys is a good place to start. Have you model number ready. 563-946-6002

I had similar issues this spring with an HWH jack. Contacting HWH is frustrating, at best. Their contact form at that time said they'd get back to you in about 2 weeks. And they never did reach out to me. Not that I had the time to wait as this happened while were traveling.

We turned to great folks at:

Very helpful, easy to get a hold of, had all the parts I needed and got them to me quickly. To say it was a night and day difference from what HWH calls service is the understatement of the year. Replacing the cylinder was not a lot of fun on my rig, but it was well worth the effort.

The first thing I would try is to apply food-grade silicone spray on the exposed cylinder. It has made all the difference. On my 2006 Adventurer HWH jacks, the springs are the only power source for jack retraction.
