We have a 2023 View and the fridge started beeping and flashing E3 where the temp would show. It would reset if we turned the fridge off or when we reset the house battery. At first it ran fine for even up to a day but now the error shows every few minutes. When it was running the fridge cooled properly. We’re looking at having to cut our vacation short if the fridge doesn’t work. The Norcold book has no reference to error signs. Any ideas? Thanks.

A Google search shows that is a common under voltage error. But it can mean a lot of things. If on battery power it could be low battery power. You can plug in to shore power or start the generator, reset the fridge and see if the error comes back.

If you are on shore power already and have the error, or if your battery is charged it can be a manufacturer defect. Seems some number of these refrigerators were built with under gauge wiring inside the fridge.

If this is the case the fridge will not work, though the freezer might. You’ll have to get an ice chest or some alternative way to keep food cold to continue your trip.

You’ll have to get this fixed but I doubt that you can get this done quickly or easily. Unless you are camping near north eastern Indiana where Norcold is located.

It does seem that hot temperatures are revealing this issue more, likely due to the fridge running more.

Is it the 12v Norcold? I have a 12v Norcold in my Voyage and it had error code E4 (doors open alarm). If you press the power button once, gently, it will silence the alarm for a while. We were able to use the silence feature during a trip. The fridge still functioned fine, just made the annoying alarm, so once we silenced it, we were good to keep enjoying our trip.

Our fridge ended up having to be replaced because of the faulty alarm.

Concur with creativepart on low voltage. We had a similar problem with the Norcold 12v in our 2021 View 24D. It traced to degraded coach batteries. A new set ($$$$) cured it. In checking the electrics, however, the Freedom RV tech folk in Tucson also discovered the solar metering relay (under the passenger seat, as I recall) was set wrong, which had contributed to the coach batteries degrading. Suggest you ask for an extended test of the electrics, just in case.

Had this issue on my Adventurer 29B. Issue was traced back to a loose DC main wire connected to the back of the DC distribution panel. For the 29B had to remove the seat cover at the table (exposes the back of the DC panel). Tightened down the main DC connector and all was fixed.

This is an old one but the ideas of how to deal with anything that has a board is the same. Get the right info on how to troubleshoot any issues. That can come from online and getting the right manual that has the good troubleshooting charts!
Once you have the right info on hand, it likely leads you to first check the inputs to any board involved.
There is an old saying, "garbage in, garbage out"! If you expect a board to work right, the inputs have to be right, so we should check them!
Part of that would be making sure it is getting good 12VDC for most of our RV things!
