Recently we bought a 2001 Itasca Suncruiser, been on one camping trip so far and enjoyed it very much. I never owned an RV of any kind in the past but always wanted one. Now that I'm a bit older and the kids are grown I figured I better get one or I never will. Our first outing was to the NC Mountains where I could get into some trout fishing between sight seeing and camping. I was lucky enough to catch lunch.

Thanks guys, our first trip to Chimney Rock, NC went well. We did find out that the shower went from ice cold to scalding hot with almost no in between. Also one of the hydraulic jacks did not want to retract without some help. I picked up the Moen cartridge for the shower valve and was able to fix the jack issue last night.

Welcome!
Being handy with tools is going to be a good thing!

Got a chuckle out of the dog wearing a hat!!!:thumb:

Welcome and nice catch. Wish I was there to enjoy with you. Do check your roof especially if it is fiberglass. You don't know how the other person keep up maintance. I learned the hard way. Go to Winnebago and get all your documents that you don't have and maintenance docs.

Thanks, I have inspected the roof closely and it looks great. It was caulked and sealed not long ago. The RV was kept in a garage so not much wear from the sun or weather on it. I do plan on sealing it every 18 months or as needed. I just repaired the shower faucet and the jack that was not retracting as well as a small hydraulic leak on another leveler. I had my own Custom Chopper Shop building customs like you see on Orange County Choppers and doing routine Harley maintenance/repairs. I built a shop behind my home about 10 years ago so I can still work on all my own stuff. My latest Adventures has been building up a 2010 Camaro SS for Drag Racing while keeping it still able to drive on the street. We have a youtube channel with pleanty of how to and racing videos as well. I'll see if I can share that channel somewhere here if anyone is interested in taking a look. Now with our RV we will be able to tow the car to some of the further away races and stay in the RV.

If you post the link to your Youtube channel here, we'll check it out. With your experience and shop, we're looking for good things from you. In the meantime, you should check out this thread in IRV2.com (Winnieowners' sister site). I think you'll enjoy following it:

Just purchased wrecked 2004 Camelot PDQ... big project - iRV2 Forums

Not only is the poster doing some amazing and well-documented work, he takes time out here and there to fix a family member's boat or car and still gets more done in a week than I do in six months. If you haven't already done so, it's worthwhile joining IRV2 as well as Winnieowners. It's a good source for non-brand-specific info like "toads", solar, etc.

If you go to the user control panel (CP) you can set up a signature block similar to mine that lists the relevant info on your rig so you don't have to specify it each time you post. I'll be interested in following you since my 2002 Suncruiser 35U is similar to your 2001 33V.

I tried to post a link to my youtube channel however it was deleted by the moderators, apparently it is against the forum rules.
