Just purchased a 2017 1706FB. First issue I'm dealing with is a missing drain handle for my black tank. I have purchased a kit to extend the handle but it may extend the handle too much.
Thanks. Unit is back at the dealer to fix the issue. Unit is also now winterized.I think your best bet would be to replace the black tank control cable with a new 72-inch cable which can be obtained via Amazon for <$30. I purchased a 2016 1706FB this year also. Perfect size for me, wife and our dog and it's a dream to pull. I too am having waste valve cable issues. My grey tank pull has the pull rod slight bent and it will not fully close the valve. Black tank cable is very hard to operate due to corrosion. Both control cables need to be replaced. The grey & black waste valves are Lasalle Bristol valves with 72-inch control cables. There are many YouTube videos that show how to replace the control cables on Lasalle Bristol valves. Issue that I found is that the set screws for cable removal from the waste valves are both facing up to the trailer floor, so I cannot gain access. The valves will need to be removed to have the cables replaced. Trailer is now winterized so this will be a spring repair.
Should you wish to go the valve replacement route, Per Winnebago Customer Service, the complete Lasalle Bristol PN's for the grey and black waste valves are 66N4AB72GM and 66N11AB72GM. Each can be obtained on-line for <$100 each.
