Dan, as I see it you made a great choice.
The problems start when the manufacture starts cutting the frame or changing the drive train to suit its desires.
Handling is the key issue.
We had an old 64 24' Titan on a dodge chassis (our actual first "motorhome", wonderful. Then a 32' Southwind also great, both class A's.
Then we got a Win Vectra '94 class A on a Chevy chassis that was set up really stupid.
No actual "park" in the transmission just a break on the tailshaft right behind the output shaft that leaks trans fluid. We actually had to chalk the wheels most of the time.
And to add to the ride they cut the rear springs off at the back of the rear axel and put air bags on instead. The ride was wobbley; the control stunk.
So Dan, as I see it you made a great choice.
