Folks,

We are trading in our Winnie Journey DL (36GD) on Friday for a new 2010 Itasca Ellipse (40CD). My wife liked the floor plan and the amenities. I am looking to take possession of our first new RV, as our Journey we bought used from ebay (enjoyed it), but wanted something newer with more room. I could not convince to go to a 42'.

Will send more pictures after delivery:)

New RV

Congratulations, boy am I jealous. Hope you have many years of traveling.

you will love it . I got the Winnie 40cd and the bath and half is nice, still getting used to the heating system and the endless hot water. and it has plenty of storage, only down fall is the switches inside the door are hard to read when dark because they are not lighted,

Looks great! I envy the table and buffet rather than our loose table with a wooden top. Enjoy and maybe we will see you at the next GNR.

We also loved the floor plan or the CD. We bought ours at Lazy Days in Florida in February. After my first new motor home I swore I would never buy another new one. Well.... this is our third new motor home. As most everyone else will tell you, you now have 12-18 months of fixing problems that crop up. Happened on my previous two and happened on this one too. I was disappointed in (and others have commented on) the apparent lack of quality control in the plumbing systems. I had Lazy Days fix 4 leaks in the plumbing during delivery and another 3 problems since. Also some other issues: I have had the basement air replaced twice by RPV (free), two problems with MCD shades that required new internal mechanisms, Onan generator short, freightliner "check engine" light on in the mountains (bad fuel / air mixture - software upgrade, freightliner switched one air control valve from rear to front to fixture coach pulling the right, and a few other things. Other than the plumbing nothing else was directly Winnebagos problem.

Good luck with your new toy. We love ours! But I would suggest you exercise ALL the plumbing (hot, cold, drains, fills, dump valves, etc) VERY rigorously and check EVERYWHERE at all coach angles before departing on a trip.

Thanks

Thanks for all the comments, suggestions, and things to look out for on the new RV. I fully understand that there will be issues that will have to be taken care of a new MH with so many parts. I will take the suggestion to ring out the plumbing on Friday. We are getting there early to go through all the systems.

Saw this coach while crusing the net (orange paper inside windshield).

More than anything, I was impressed with the exterior colors.

The water heater is behind a small panel on the drivers side rear closet.
Get in there and support every pex line and all fittings.

That was the only problem we have had with our 08 Tour. The 90 degree fitting needs support or it may split. You'll see what I mean.

Oh, to follow the plumbing code. Right!!

It is a beauty. Congratulations.

And, to Kerry thanks for the water heater tip. I'll check that out, too, in our 09 Tour.
