New Micro Minnie FLX part timer (for now...)

Gotcha, and were you able to extend awning/slide on battery power? I asked elsewhere but thought I’d ask again here since we have the same rig. I’m thinking about plugging into house 120vac to do it but not sure about the draw that would occur. My rig is set up in my driveway at the moment, somewhat of a guest suite until we take our first local trip this weekend.

@Bingofuel

Yes, you can run the Truma AC off of the LPG fueled Champion 2500 DF. I know this because I run the Truma AC in my MM off my Champion 2000 DF (LPG fueled), make sure you set the Xantrex to 15amps so that it doesn't send the generator into over load. Look at my albums and look under FLX appas and see where to changes this setting on the Xantrex.

As long as you don't run the AC and Microwave at the same time this will work, pick and choose when on generator.

Rah motor T,

Sweet, what exactly does reducing the amp setting do? Is that setting saying “hey, we’re plugged into 15 amp now?” Or, “we are using 15 amps total at any given time now” or “trip off at 15 amps?” I’m confused because I would think you’d want to increase the amp setting rather than decrease it, unless the amp setting is restricting the allowable amperage through..the Xantrex? I didn’t think an inverter generator would go through the Xantrex though.

I think Karl is referring to the fact that programming your Xantrex for a lower charge amperage leaves more incoming amps from the generator for other chores. I routinely reduce my charge amps to 20amps in order to run the A/C with my Champion.

Marine359 is correct.

When on generator with 20amps or more on the Xantrex it sends the generator into overload mode and the AC will not blow as cold. But when I chose something lower like 18amps everything works fine that is why I chose 15amps.

So playing around with the settings on the Xantrex you can find your sweet stop to get the most out of the entire FLX system.

Copy, I just hooked into shore power for the first time but set Xantrex charging amperage to 15, thanks.

Remember the setting and adjust as you are either plugged into a generator or shore power, you really don't want to limit shore power just generator power so the generator does not go into overload mode.

Shore power can provide one of three different amps 30, 20 (GFCI usually) or 15 amps (standard house hold outlet).

Have fun out there!

Can you run the Truma off the 2500 without a soft start?
Yes, it will run on the inverter without hookups, just not for terribly long (a few hours) before depleting the lithionics battery.

It's good enough to run it for a while if you stop for a short break, lunch while traveling, etc.

Running off of 2,000 watt Honda.

I'm curious if anyone has ran the AC overnight with a Honda 2,000 watt inverter generator.

My thought it that the fuel won't last all night, but will it get close enough for the battery to carry it until morning?

Cabin would already be cooled, and heat load will be much less at night, and battery will be full when the generator shuts down.

I meant to try that out this past weekend, but left the house without the generator.
