I congratulate you on that choice as it does have some advantages if one is not too impressed with gimmicks and gizmos!
The older RV may lack some things newer may have but part of what it lacks is difficulty fixing things when they go bad!
Depending on how you fly on repairs, the pre 2010 models do have some big advantages for the novice repair folks like us!
It is kind of like having an older car without things a new one has. You have far fewer things to break down and you also can look, see and hear how things are working far better than if you are looking at a black box full of secrets!
We also get far more online drawings posted to tell us what they built!
