New Member with a 2019 Minnie
Greetings! I’m new to RVing, and will be spending the winter in Northern Idaho. I came across this site looking for information on spending the winter in my Minnie without frozen piping and tanks. All information is appreciated!

Greetings Hualapai,
I have seen folks install skirting around their trailer, and they probably run some heaters such as the Davis Instruments Air-Dryr 1000 Dryer down there too; for the heat to keep things from freezing. Depending upon how well you insulate, and how cold it is, you may need more than one heater. I believe the heater draws about 130 watts. I have also seen heated fresh water hoses.

Thank You! With this skirting, a heated water hose, and heat tape I believe we’ll stay above freezing. We’re in Northern Idaho so it does get chilly!

I am far from an expert on this, I have however been reading about folks doing it for years. Heres my thoughts

Get an adapter and a much larger propane tank. Will need a dealer to get a big tank. The propane heater in the camper sucks propane really bad.

Skirting, I have seen haybales, foam insulation, the list goes on. The main thing you will need to stop the underneath from getting any cold air. I think the skirting is the most important part for you.

You will need some type of heat for the underside, probably electric. You have to keep the underside warm.

As for water and sewer you will need heat tape on both. They make a water hose with heat tape built into it.

You have a project ahead of the cold weather.
