Hi to all, my name is Joe Vaccaro, and my wife Rosalie. We live in Mesa Arizona. Recently bought a 2001 sightseer 30b and have made one trip to Tuscon, our shakedown trip.
Still getting accustomed to a class A motorhome, but we are getting there.

Thanks,, this out first motorhome, always had trailers. I do like the floorplan and overall features. Just hate the way it behaves on the road.

Hi again Joe,
Searching this forum for Sightseer Handling brings-up some threads which might be of interest. Another concern I have is if your tires have ever been replaced. Twenty years is a long time, just in case they are the original tires.
Thanks, Eagle5

Eagle5, thanks for advice. here is a list of I have done so far:

Tires are 1 year old, put on by person I bought it from Kelly armorsteel 245 70 r 19.5 load range g
CHF front and rear, using Hellwig links to maintain proper angles on sway bar on front.
New Bilstein shocks all around
New front/rear polyurethane sway bar bushings
Front/rear trac bars

I have the 18k f53 chassis had it weighed at CAT scales 5790 pounds on front with 2 people on board, full fuel tank, no water 9640 rear. my GAWR for front is 7000/rear is 11000 so im pretty far under weight. All inflation tables i looked at say 80psi for load. Tire placard inside also says 80psi.
Just wish it would track better and not have to make constant steering corrections. Sorry for the long winded post,,thought it may help. thanks Joe

Wow; you really have gone through it well. I would only add three additional things to consider for the wandering steering problem:

  1. Ball Joint wear
  2. Steering Gear wear
  3. Alignment issues (maybe something as simple as a touch more toe-in)
Of course, it just may be in the nature of the big rig to steer the way it does.
I hope you can get it to where you want.

I don’t see a steering stabilizer mentioned. That would be my very first addition to the motorhome. SafeTPlus, Roadmaster and others make them.

forgot to list roadmaster steering stabilizer and total front end alignement
