Winnebago Vita 24P
Yes Bio diesel is an issue for us Sprinter chassis owners. I talked to the Mercedes Rep at the Winnebago GNR. They are aware of Bio fuel issues. The 23 year engine will be Bio compatable. The key is to try not to use bio, but if you do, next stop hopefully use low sulpher No. 2. The other point is if you are going to put your rig in storage, avoid bio.
He said as long as the engine in hot and you are going to fill again, you should be OK. The very important thing to check is oil level, If it rises above the normal mark you should as soon as possible have the oil changed. The bio has blown pass the rings and EGR and is contaminated. You have loss your lubrication properties for the engine. Also if that bad, the fuel filter should be changed.
