Hi Winnie Owners,

I'm from the Portland Oregon area and just bought a used Brave.

I'm planning a Spring Break trip to Phoenix and a Summer trip to the East coast.

I'm sure that I'll be searching and asking for answers as I make sure that the rig is roadworthy and plan out routes.

Mark

Hi Mark,
The 2004 30W Brave is a great floor plan. I also really appreciate that it has a driver's door; a feature not present in many of the newer Class As. Were you shopping for long to find it? Sometimes, all it takes is being at the right place at the right time.

Welcome to the group and I want to point out some of the good info that they do make available online:

I find the parts, plumbing and wiring to be a great help in figuring out what I have and how to take it apart!!! Just finding how to get the exact ID on my RV is often first step to repair or figuring how it works.

Thanks guys for the reply.

I had a craigslist search saved and was looking that way for a few months to get an idea of what we would get for how much money. I had some stock market investments that I was watching. Once I got to the point that I was willing to sell the right amount of profit to free up the appropriate funds, we started visiting a few of the local used RV dealers.

I decided that I really wanted an "A" class and I wasn't sure how hard it was going to be to get a longer rig in and out of our drive. We found a 2003 30' Brave on a lot, liked it, but kind of wished that it had the 2nd slide-out for more bedroom space.

Then a 2004 came up on Craigslist with 2 slides and being private-party, they where asking less $.

Hi Mark,
I keep reading that the stock market might be getting a little peaky, so it sounds like you truly optimized your purchase; great job!
Springtime is in the air, and I believe the best is yet to come. Enjoy your new motorhome.
Thanks, Eagle5

Have you driven from WA to AZ? I'm planning a spring break trip from Portland OR and trying to decide the best routes in late March.

Hi Mark,
I have not yet made the trip to Arizona, so I cannot help with the overall trip planning. However, I do love traveling south on the 101 down the Oregon Coast. All the scenic turnouts are then right-hand turns, so it is much safer.
If you are heading west on US 30, don't forget to stop at Bradley State Scenic Viewpoint, in Clatskanie, Oregon. A very nice area for a break on the way to the coast. Hopefully, it will be open when you are going by that way.
Thanks, Eagle5
