I recently purchased a 2002 Itasca horizon, we have some issues to figure out. First issue the leveling system will not function as it thinks the park brake isn’t set when it is. Slides still fuction, jacks won’t. Second issue turn signals are flashing really fast all bulbs check out fine, relay seems fine. Any help with these issues is greatly appreciated!

Two thoughts to consider but not an exact answer!
There is some good online HWH jacks troubleshooting info. But I don't have it on hand, so only a suggestion to check for that if none came with the RV bag of info.

Perhaps a more direct idea on the turn signal flashers if all the turn bulbs are flashing. That flasher is sometimes different if we have more turn signal bulbs. Perhaps the flasher was changed and the new one was not the correct heavy duty needed?
Thinking of the flasher as a contact of some sort which heats as current flows through and if we change the number of bulbs, it changes the amount of current? Your RV is closer to a truck, so perhaps it has a car flasher?
Another point might be that LED turn signal bulbs replaced older bulbs and that may be a problem?

Kind of vague idea but maybe a parts store old hat knows about that?

You might want to try these guys. They are rated and trained RV repairmen who travel the country in their own coaches. This is what we had yesterday.

We had another problem and I needed a good repairman so we again went to the RV Help web site. This guy was great. This is the rating I left for him along with four stars.
We were in central Minnesota.

This was my message to him.

When I engaged the Chassis Power switch all I could hear was a chattering from a solenoid. l had no power to bring in the slides or start the engine. I found the solenoid but was hesitant to jump it for fear of burning up a computer that runs the engine.

My Wife found Mike and he talked me through jumping with cables and if that worked bypass the solenoid altogether. With his assurance I went ahead and did just that. Mike was very friendly, (even on a Sunday afternoon). and said if this didn't work he would make the journey to where we were. It did, we got home, thanks to Mike. I highly recommend him to anyone that needs a honest RV repairman. Thanks a lot Mike.

Back to the question about the jacks and getting it to agree that the brake is set?
There are way too many small points on different models and years of the jacks, so I do not even try to keep that all in mind. So I go to manuals as I trust them more than my memory!
But some small points are common and you might look that idea over a bit.
Does the jack system have a light, etc. on it, that is separate from one that tells slides that the brake is set?
If there are sperate lights for jack versus slide, they often are a combined switch on the park brake pedal and we can use that as a start.
If two different lights are used and one shows brake set but the other not, I move away from checking the switch and begin to look more into WHY that signal is getting on the slide portion but not the jacks?
And that gets into how each is setup. Are they both something like HWH and use a combined hydraulic system to move? Or are the two systems fully separate and one might use hydraulic while the other uses small motors?

If both slide and jacks are a combined HWH system, I might begin to look at HWH info to see where that brake pedal signal gets connected to the HWH? But that often requires knowing which model of HWH and leads to knowing where to find that model label on the equipment!

You might have LED bulbs in your turn signals.

I’m pretty stumped, the light on the dash comes on so it’s sending a signal there just something funky going on in the control box I suppose. The slides from what I’ve read aren’t suppose to extend and retract under the same circumstances of the brake not on as well as with the engine running and they do.

I’ve got a local shop lined up, here’s to good results and hoping my wallet is thick enough.

This guy was the culprit, while hunting down the jack wiring I stumbled upon it. Swapped it out and turn signals work great. Still figuring out the jacks though. Sigh.
