Greetings
In our 2020 view, there has never been a light in the microwave.
We toured a 2021 navion and theirs had a light.
On closer inspection of ours it appears that there is a bulb behind a perforated panel.
But, I can’t figure out how to access it.
Can anyone help point me in the right direction to replace this light bulb?

Thank you
Bruce

The make and model number of the microwave would be of great assistance to answer this question. The same model could have been installed for only months or up to even years.

Greystone D100N30ASPR

I took this off the build sheet. No label on the microwave itself.

thanks
Bruce

We have a 21V and the graystone MW light now stays on 24/7. Its unplugged now. In my opinion the graystone brand is a junk. One day I will find a replacement that fits the opening and with pleasure I take a sledge hammer to this one.

That sounds like a loose or defective switch in the door latch mechanism. It's probably repairable.

Light switches that stick may be a simple as a squirt of contact cleaner or WD-40 if that is what you have.
WD-is what I always have but there is a big point to keep in mind?
It can burn if given the right situation, so think before trusting!
Sometimes a rap with a screwdriver can do wonders for stuck switches!

Please don't use WD40 on electrical switches, WD-40 is an extremely flammable aerosol. Its Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) explicitly warns that it should be kept away from heat, sparks, open flames, and hot surfaces. Even a small spark can ignite the vapors from WD-40, potentially causing a fire.

After watching a bunch of videos on lightbulb replacement on various microwaves and reading in the manual that the replacement has to be done by a qualified technician, I think that the microwave has to be removed and the cover taken off to access the bulb. There seems to be several models where this is the case.

I will probably live with it as is.

Thank you for your help.
Bruce

I haven't seen a small microwave where the bulb could be replaced without removing the cover. It has to be behind a metal screen. If you can see the bulb, you could try poking at it with something non-conductive to see if it's just loose.
