Meridian/Journey Rear Compartment Storage?

For those of you with Meridians and Journeys on the Freightliner chassis, what do you store on the rear compartment on the righthand side of the coach? It is long and fairly shallow. And I suspect it may get pretty warm due to it's proximity to the exhaust and SRC.

I have a 15’ collapsible ladder (on its side) and a small tool bag. Nothing else will fit. I’m thinking of making a small frame and attach peg board to hang tools. Make the frame just big enough to wedge into that space above and below the opening lip so it stays in place. Haven’t made any progress on it yet. Been too busy using the coach. Just spent the last 6 nights in Myrtle Beach.

I was wondering if the ZG Chairs (we haven't bought ours yet) would fit. I do like the idea of the tool board and collapsible ladder going in there.
