Magnum recommends 1 Oz beads per 10 pounds of tire weight. Any have any experience with the beads?
I'm putting four 245/70r 19.5 tires that weight 80 pounds each with a H load range. I'm believe 8 or 8.5 oz bag OR a 10 oz bag due to the 16 ply. Mt steer tire are same size but 14 ply and 80 lbs, so 8.5 oz should be perfect. Anyone with experience ? Thanks and have a great day.
 
It seems like it is an invention looking for a problem. I believe the tire changing shops probably do not like them. Wouldn't standard tire balancing be OK?
 
Have never tried them but might consider, just had 4 drive tires balanced at Freightliner and cost was $840.00

Need to be careful with the beads, I have heard the unless you use an air compressor with a dryer to air you tires the moisture can cause problems with the beads.
 
Compressed air at any location maintains relative humidity, Zero in New Mexico but much higher in Florida and Michigan. Nitrogen tire fills are a compressed atmospheric gas with zero moisture content. Our atmosphere is about 70% nitrogen.
 
I have yet to use balancing beads in our RV, but I will soon. 2021V Navion. On our Goldwing MC We always used the beads and had a smooth ride regardless of the speed we were traveling, and we traveled a lot! They also helped to extend tire life and wear patterns. FYI, the average tire life on Goldwing bike is between 8k and 12K miles depending on your driving weight loading and cornering habits. The amount of beads to use is calculated based on tire size.
 
If you use balancing beads, you must replace your standard valve cores with filtered/slotted cores. Standard cores can get clogged by the beads when you check your tire pressure

Tires are designed and tested with the expectation of temperature variation and any resultant pressure variation.

If you use beads you MUST use special tire valves that have "filters" on them or suffer clogged valve cores and ruined TPM sensors
