Members are trying to locate the side solar port on the 2026 Micro Minnie 1800BH, as the owner's manual claims all 2026 towables include one. Several RVers report difficulty finding the port, with one noting that even a dealer walkthrough failed to identify its location. A high-reputation member clarifies that “solar prepped” may only mean a hidden wire run, not an actual exterior port, and suggests that if a port is missing, it’s easy to add one by connecting to the solar charge controller... Hello! Just picked up a 2026 micro and I love it so far. First upgrade will be dropping in a larger lithium battery (should be simple on 2026, no other upgrades needed AFAIK). I also want to get a suitcase solar panel to help keep it topped off. I'm having trouble locating the side mount solar port on this unit. Owners manual says all 2026 towables have a port. Anyone know where it is? Thanks! My next upgrade after that is to get an inverter also.

This is a good one. Everything I've read said that the 2026 MM is PREPPED for additional side solar, not what that means (aka "having a port"). Usually "prepped" just means a hidden wire run between here and there, but for the exterior?

Interesting. I hadn't considered that as a possibility. Seems strange (but also very believable) that they wouldn't at least mark the hidden wire location so you could use it.

Do you know what you are looking for? Usually it's a small SAE plug with a cap over it.

So, I've watched a few videos and looked over the brochure and I see no mention of an outside port for a portable panel suitcase. I do see the solar charge controller and fuse/breaker for the rooftop 200w panel just inside the passenger side of the forward basement compartment.

If you don't have an external solar port you could very easily add one to that solar charge controller.

We did a walkthrough of our 2026 Micro last week and the dealer tech couldn’t locate the side solar port for us. We too will be subbing in a higher capacity LI battery and the portable Solar will be important for us. Our suitcase panel has an mppt controller built in, and I think it can be connected straight to the battery using alligator clip adapters and this seems like a simple solution.

Absolutely. That’s a good way to do it. You could add an external port that connects to the battery output of the solar charge controller, but your way is simpler.

That is correct, with the controller on the panel you just need battery power. The Solar On Side Port typically used is just that battery power.
