Loading fresh water

I just purchased a 2011 Itasca Sunstar 26'. This is the third time I've loaded fresh water into the holding tank. When the water level got to the top of the tank I waited, but there was no overflow that I could see or hear. I l looked underneath the rig and no water was draining. I know where the drain valve is, it seems like filling just stops. Where an I suppose to look for overflow water.

Also whoever applied the sensors to the tank sure missed the mark on 3rds. Can I move sensors down or is there another part to the sensor I'm not aware???

I have much room after the gauge shows full.
I wait until I hear it comming out or the overflow.
Depending on the water pressure it can take more than one would think. I have read of others moving the sensors.

My will definitely overflow. I can see my tank with one of the compartments open so I can tell when it's getting close to full. I can also see the overflow pipes, comes out the top of the tank, does a 180 and goes straight down through the bottom and dumps right on one of the mufflers.

I have a 2013 Itasca Sunstar 26HE. There is a portion of my water tank that actually runs across the width of the motorhome and is out of view. So, when it appears the water tank is full, there is still a section that is not full. It takes another couple of minutes before the water starts to run out of the overflow valve.

The full point on the Winnebago TrueLevel Tank Gauge is well below the top of the fresh tank. Generally the overflow port will be in one of the four corners of the fresh tank on top.

If you fill past the TrueLevel full point and you travel or otherwise have the camper un-level then water will run out the overflow when the RV is tilted down towards it or water is sloshing around .

If you want to try carry a completely full fresh tank and still have it when you arrive and get set up try putting a kids baloon over the end of the overflow tube. When you get set up and leveled pull the baloon off, so that air can be drawn into the tank to replace water that gets sucked out by the pump.

Some install a valve on the overflow - the risk of doing this is that if you forget to open it you can rupture your tank when filling, and the pump drawing out without an air source can negative pressure the tank and create problems too - it is not designed to take any positve or negative pressure other than that caused by the weight of the water in the tank. With the ballon it will break before your water tank ruptures if you forget.

I actually attached a shutoff valve to the end of the overflow tube. I leave it open unless I am traveling with the tank completely full. Once I arrive at my location, I open the valve to clear any water in the overflow tubing. Has worked well for me for the past couple years.

Our MH has 2 fresh water tanks. One inline with the entry door and one directly behind it. The water inlet is plumbed into the top of the rear tank. There is a larger pipe, part of the drain line that connects the 2. So when the first tank is full it still has to force water into the 2nd tank at the bottom. Takes quite awhile to fill them both completely.
