Hello all, I have been researching swapping to LiFE04 batteries in my 2022 2100BH and just wanted some clarification from what I have found reading on here so far as this is more involved than originally thought. To swap I would have to do the following:
1, Install 2 Weize grp 24 100AH LiFE04 batteries in parallel
2, Ensure the original converter is able to switch to Lithium
3, change settings on the factory installed solar controller to lithium
4, install a DC/DC charger to ensure that my tow vehicle alternator does not burn out
I just some verification on the above. Also, the last one is what has me a little confused as some reads say newer alternators are not a problem, my tow vehicle has a 175Amp alternator already. Others say a DC/DC charger is a must. My primary reason to switch over to lithium is for longer camps with the 12v fridge on batteries. Thank you for any assistance.

Sounds like a good plan. But I think you will find that the alternator output over light gauge wiring all the way back to your TT will be so low that you don’t really “have” to do anything to protect it. Of course, you will also find that it doesn’t do a good job changing up your batteries while driving, too.

So, you may want a DC2DC charger to do a better job changing your batteries. My point is, you likely aren’t forced to do this.

If you have 300-400w of solar that can do as much in a day as the auxiliary charger.
