Leaking Bedroom Slide Cylinder on 2002 Adventurer 32

They are a pretty reliable company - and yes they did refund the cost of repair. Next step is HWH providing a new one. They gave me the part number - said it would take 3-4 weeks to build. Cost just under $800. Praying that solves the problem.

Since my post yesterday the consensus is a new cylinder from HWH will solve the problem. Fingers crossed.

Before throwing in the towel, call Stewarts RV Leveling. They are a HWH dealer and rebuild cylinders as well as sell new OEM parts.
Call and request to speak with Andre. The operator knows how to order parts. Andre is the HWH expert.

One of the really confusing things about hydraulics is how simple the parts are when we get down to something like the cylinder. Leaks at cylinders is a common issue on construction and farm equipment, due to where they live and the work being messy. Grit and grime from dirt tends to eat up the seals that hold the fluid in!
But the idea of keeping fluid in them is pretty simple as it needs to be a nice shiny metal item with the seals being the right type and size to hold the pressure.
Pretty much like putting a faucet washer on the end of a hose. We have to get the right parts and put them together the right way!
One of the problems we all may have when hiring work done, is poeple are not always willing to admit they have no idea about what they are asked to do. If the shop has never seen that type cylinder, it can lead to mistakes!

The slide cylinder is finally installed and working fine. Ordered new part from HWH. After being assured it was the replacement part we needed it was 3 inches too short. Our mechanic had it retooled (or reworked) to make it work. Finally after much trial and tribulation we are fixed. Thank you all for your suggestions and help.

I just got to this thread. I'd like to see the slide piston/cylinder in question. We have a 2004 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the CAT C-7 330HP and its bedroom/closet slide has leaked three times on us since we took ownership 15 years ago and around 127,000 miles. I've done what it takes to R & R that master cylinder (there's two for that operation of that closet) and it's not a fun job. I don't know if your cylinder arrangement/size/length/operation is close or, nothing like ours but it would be interesting to see if they are similar. I have a whole series of photos of location of the cylinder/piston and all that's involved with R & R and what that mess looks like all taken apart. But all that is useless if it's not even close to yours.

YOU CAN GO TO WEBSITE AND ORDER THE PART IF YOU WISH”. I will also attach a photo of the label from the cylinder. If yours is HWH I found them to be helpful (even tho the cylinder was 3” off)

That's alright Imdaze, I was just wondering if your situation was similar or possibly even identical to ours. But, the cylinder parts number is quite different which more than likely means the whole operation is different. No biggie. Thanks for getting back here. Appreciated.

I also have a 2002 Suncruiser 32v I have talked to HWH about the part so i know the replacement is RAP28363 Randy FOX from their tech team gave me that. I was able to goet some holes rethreaded to get it fixed but I asked for the replacement partnumber just in case.
