I have a 2006 Itasca 29R. All last winter I parked it up at Crystal Mtn. Ski area in Washington state fully set up with the jacks down. On Monday when I was getting ready to pull out I noticed fluid collecting in the jack base pad. The control panel in the cab was totally dead, too. It wouldn't

turn on and none of the indicator lights would light. I used the jumper to retract the jacks and made it home. The one jack looks like it blew a seal or at least is leaking pretty good. It could have been a long term slow leak because it was parked with the jacks down for 5 months. I just had a dermatologist treatment which prohibits me from going in the sun till Monday so troubleshooting this has been frustrating. I assume the fluid is low so would it be worthwhile to just top it off and see what happens? Would low fluid keep the control panel from turning on or operating? Do I need to strap this jack up or all the jacks to keep them from dropping? Thanks everyone.
 
Now it is leaking up front where the pump is. It just keeps getting better,
 
I'm not going to be much help because I have a different jack setup but, if'n it we me I'd tackle this as two different issues.
The system not having power is most likely a fuse, probably at the pump.
I also have a Case 580 backhoe and I've learned from experience that it is asking for trouble to leave pistons extended for a long period of time exposed to the weather without working them.
 
There is a possibility that the low oil switch could cut the power to the controller, but I don't know that for sure because my system is a different maker
 
Thanks everyone. I thought the red fliud leaking in the front was from my hydrauluc pump but it was antifreeze. I have a slow leak coming out of the short hose which connects my radiator cap to the radiator. I am parked on a slight downhill grade so a little bit of fluid is coming out of the radiator. It might not happen when I’m level. Another chore. The hydraulic pump is behind my drivers side tire and is very dry as in not leaking. What a pain it will be trying to read the fluid level or adding dexron, who designs these things? The good news is I think its mostly that one jack. I have wired all the jacks up but was wondering if it would be a good idea to exercise them just to see what happens. That jack could have just had a slow leak for the 5 months I was parked. I do not see a low oil switch on my service guide. I am heading out into the Olympic Peninsula on Tuesday regardless.

Not a lot of help on specifics but I think the panel lights out will be a power problem, not related to fluids, etc. . Fuse check time? And we do get some ideas of WHERE the panels might be as I think (without finding anything to back it!) that the panel will be a wire added from the control panel to the the regular chassis wiring. Whether on a different fuse or tied in along the line is not clear. Maybe get lucky and spot a blown fuse by looking or testing ALL in the panels. One hard to get to as down low and left, somewhat near driver's left foot?

Easier to check are a couple prospects under the dash? I think you have a dash that should flip up to see them?

But, again, no real help on WHICH fuse is given! UGH!
Truth is that I feel like this may be the control panel is tied into a wire under the dash, but no info found. Maybe get lucky and spot one of these or it gets down to fighting under the dash to find a splice?
The jacks tend to be treated kind of like lost items added last minute!

Wish you luck on the chase as info is getting harder to find! But I don't expect the lights on the controls to depend on fluid level but the power can be tricky to follow without getting the jack manual online and trying to search out install instructions!
 
I’ll check those fuses. These control panels come with a jumper. Pop out the connector on the back and plug it into the jumper which bypasses the panel. The jacks will only retract which they did. It sure sounded like the pump was running. Does that mean I have power?
 
Motor sound would seem to say battery good to motro?
But I like to go step by step when I can get a good manual as I never even pretend to know what all the different things might do!
So my firs steps might be to skip over checking all those fuses as I see you do seem to have a good manual that lays out how to chase the problems.
If the controls are not lighting, I would call that switch "no function"!

This drawing shows where that power and ground are connected and you do need to check both battery and ground! But if the motor runs, that may be telling you part of things are running and maybe a small wire going back tot he controls is not good?

Hard to say but for sure the manual will know far more than me, so go with what it leads you to check as far better!
See where the power might get to the mmotor on that one connection and where the other wire goes to power the control? I kind of messed the drawing but you may find the power gets to the motor but corrosion or loose wire may not be passing it to the controls ??
One thing we can always count on? It's often in the hardest spot to reach!

Several questions to chase down. Is the battery and ground actually getting to that post underneath or is it getting there and maybe just not getting a good connection right on the back of the control head? Surely they tell you which pin it should be there and that might save you crawling under but I did not get that far before getting involved in other things!
Looks like a good manual but not gotten far enough to chase it further.
