Good Day,

I'm putting together the pieces for an Xantrex Inverter/Charger install in our newly purchased Micro Minnie 2108FBS.

The plan is to rebuild the underbed cabinet. Reviewing eatSleepWoof (Yurily) cabinet build, his design is pretty much what we are thinking (see attached). We did a similar build on our last Micro Minnie 2106FBS (see attached).

This time around we are going to extend the box, add drawers and a top shelf. We intend on redesigning the plywood lid to support a full queen and have separate access to the battery compartment. Bottom line, the design will provide the extra space for the battery without losing storage space.

One thing has been brought to my attention; noise from the inverter. Many inverter installations are done in the passthru. For those besides Yurily, that have installed the inverter in the underbed storage cabinet, what are your thoughts on the noise level.

Installing the inverter in the passthru of a Micro Minnie 2108FBS, one must remember it is still under the bed (inverter fans are in a different compartment). Will that make any difference.

If your running your AC at night from the inverter, the noise level of the AC would likely drown out the inverter fans I'm sure.

Thoughts,

Since your travel trailer came with a Converter you'll find it simpler to install an inverter rather than an inverter charger. I believe if you are using an inverter charger you'll have to modify the TT's wiring a fair amount. Have you considered this?

Yes, the inverter prep wiring has been modified to utilize the inverter/charger (see attachments). Was a pretty simple process, 10-2 Romex was installed rather than the 14-2 Winnebago typically uses in the inverter prep.

The shore power wire was removed from the Converter/Charger Main terminal in the distribution panel and one end of the 10-2 loop was attached there. The other end of the 10-2 loop was spliced back into the shore power wire that was removed from the main breaker. (Remember to label the loop end as to which wire comes from which connection at the distribution panel i.e shore power, distribution panel).
