A member considering a Solera slide topper for a 2026 Micro Minnie 2108FBS measured only 1.5 inches between the top of the slide trim and the gutter and asked whether anyone had installed one on the same model. The concern was fit and adequate runoff slope, rather than installation difficulty. The member reported getting no firm answer from Winnebago or Solera technical support, while sellers contacted later said installation was “not recommended,” so the purchase remained on hold...

I just purchased a 26 model 2108 FBS and was looking into a slide topper. I watched that RV tech guy on YouTube install one and it certainly looks easy enough, but I don't believe I have the clearance necessary. Has anyone installed a slide topper on their slide out on the same model?
Thanks

I installed an RVeaves slide topper on my 2021 2108DS without any problems. We are in the first 3 weeks of a 3 month trip from Nevada to Alaska and back with no issues at all. Believe me, if I can install it w/o problems then anyone can.

How much space did you have (measured) between the the very top edge of the 4" trim on the slide and the bottom edge of the gutter? I only have about 1.5". I can't measure to the rooftop of the slider right now because of it's parked so can't getr in it to put the slider out. I was planning on a Solera Slide type. Not if that differs significant;y from yours. I'll have no skill issues with the actual install if it can be done. Imjust don't want to order something I can't use and can't get a committed answer from Winnebago or Solera techs.
Thanks.

The directions specified the minimum amount of space needed and that was all the space available between the trim and the gutter. I dont remember exactly how much space was available but I think it was only 4". It has worked well for us with no issues (so far :)

I had 1 reply from a guy who said he did it and had no problem but...... I measured it 6 ways to Sunday and while I think it's possible you for certain won't have the angle or slope for runoff. I also did a good bit of research and called all of the points of sale and they all said "not recommended". So I haven't...... yet......... but I still want to. I have some more digging to do.

I had a soleil slide topper put on my 2024 MM2108, not much of an angle for runoff but has worked fine. I do brush it off of leaves and pine needles while we roll it up. We have gone thru some heavy rain, although the main awning filled and I had to adjust the angle, did not see any issues with slide topper…
Note the Vroom rails!!!
Interesting that the large chain RV repair/store did not warn me of ‘not recommended’
