It always turns out easy once you know the secret. But I don’t know the secret. And with brittle plastic I’m not too interested in poking and prodding too much.

I’m wondering if someone can tell me how to disconnect the hose from the faucet. I’d like to put in a longer and more flexible hose. If I could add it directly to the faucet it would look better. Worst case I could cut the hose close to the faucet and use a coupler.

Problem with that is I’d still have a piece of brittle plastic in the line.

Thanks in advance.

Yes it’s screwed on. Usually it can be unscrewed by hand. If you need pliers to do it be sure to put a rag on the pliers jaws to keep from hurting the plastic. And when retightening the hose it is best to use just your hand and don’t over tighten or you can split the fitting.

Excellent

It’s such a strange offset fitting I thought it might be something different. That’s my job for tomorrow.

Thanks

That fitting is a vacuum breaker. I keep a Phoenix Faucets PF273002 in my spares kit. Replacements available at this link, and elsewhere.
