How do YOU make your coffee?

Another vote for the Aeropress - I've tried everything from a Mr. Coffee (back in the age of dinosaurs) to a French Press to a Keurig - nothing beats the convenience and portability of the Aeropress - I have one at home and one in the RV - best coffee going IMHO.
Yes, I think it may be the press method that creates great coffee without the acid of drip.
Pressing thru the single layer of paper makes a great expresso, which I then add water to make an Americano.
It’s just the Keurig is so darn convenient.
No question the Jura is the best, often seen at breakfast buffets, etc. patented pulsed method with bean to cup grinder.

Thanks everyone!! For those voting for the AeorPress, how does it fare in terms of cleanup (I.e. not getting any coffee grounds down the sink and into your black tank)?

Nothing is perfect but… the AeroPress has a plunger to push the coffee thru the grounds, out the bottom of this tube, thru a paper filter into your cup. The plunger has a large rubber gasket so the inside of the tube stays pretty clean. After dispensing your coffee you twist open the perforated bottom plate with the piece of filter paper, then continue to push the plunger (over a trash can) and the grounds get pushed out as a little ‘hockey puck’ into the trash. A wipe of the rubber plunger face with a paper towel gets the rest clean.
Wiping out a French press is way more work and can’t wipe it perfectly clean, I usually make a mess over the trash can because I can’t fit my hand into a French press to wipe it clean.
I do rinse the whole AeroPress assembly at that point before putting it away. I don’t remember there being much left when I rinse but was tent camping at that point so if some dirty water hit the ground at that point it was not an issue.
Invented by the guy who invented the frisbee, who likely has tons of money and that is what he uses. (Invented before Jura😁)

I use a device called a clever dripper which steeps the coffee like a french press then drips through a filter like a pour over. It is very easy to clean up. It is also my go to coffee method at home.

At home, we make our coffee in a French Press. Doing the same poses a bit of hassle in the RV, though, because it means having to wipe the carafe totally clean with a paper towel before washing it -- to avoid rinsing any coffee grounds down the sink and into our gray tank. We've thought about switching to filters and drip, for ease of cleanup -- but don't think this will produce as good of coffee as the French Press can. So, I ask.... how do YOU make your coffee in the RV? Are there any secret or otherwise unknown-to-me methods that we should be trying out?
<$20.00 Mr Coffee 12-cup drip machine. Does a great job.

On those (very) reare occasions I'm feeling adventurous I'll dig out the old unbranded SS percolator. I does a good job making brew too.

I’ve been making coffee in our View with my Freiling French Press for 10 years now. And I use the same method as the writer, wiping the inside of the pot with paper towels after thoroughly draining remaining liquid so as not to wash grounds down the sink. Sure, some escape, but so far no issues with the grey tank. I’ve investigated the alternatives, except for that Aeropress (which looks a little long for storage) and I’m satisfied with the deep, delicious flavor I get from the press. But thanks for all for the great alternative ideas.

BTW, those ‘Mr Coffee’ machines and clones were well known for catching fire! The temp switch on the hot plate would fail and the heater would run away, melting the plastic and catching fire!
Even the engineer at the safety review third party agency burned his kitchen down from one of those things!!!
Took a lot of flack from fellow engineers 😃
Stay with the machine while plugged in, and always always unplug the thing before walking away!

I would just get a stainless steamer basket and a fine strainer dump the coffee grounds into strainer basket and then dump out the strainer into my Walmart garbage bag and done

French press is awesome no reason to overthink this
As I keep both in my instant pot nothing else to buy or add

forgot to mention the AeroPress has an app to time the many different ways to make and steep the coffee with timers at each step, it does make a difference.
I can’t seem to clean the French press as easy as the AeroPress. One is a dead end device I have to dig and dig to get all the material out. The other is a straight thru plunger, way easier IMHO.
Seems not that much taller than the French press and not as breakable.

I was chatting with my daughter earlier today, she switched over to an Aeropress back when they first came out and swears by them. She apparently got her original when she was living in Washington state back in '05/'06. She still has the original and a couple more.

I have one on my Christmas List. :trink25:

AeroPress is a big step up from the French press, created by the inventor of the frisbe!
At home I have a new bean 2 cup, a Jura machine, undoubtedly the best coffee machine in the world!!!!
Don’t know what I’m going to do this year, single keurig k-cup I guess.

I use the AeroPress. The great thing about it is how it minimizes cleanup compared to a French Press. It uses a paper filter. After pressing, the coffee grounds are held in place by the filter and a quick push of the press piston pops the puck (how's that for alliteration?) out with a small amount of grounds left on the end of the piston.

BTW, Alan Adler didn't invent the Frisbee. He invented a well-know flying ring, which is from his Aerobie company. Walter Morrison invented the Frisbee.

Either way, they both likely have more money than god, and this is what they choose.
The Jura pushes out a ‘puck’ of waste grounds like the AeroPress, maybe just an automated version.

I have been following this thread and it really makes my use of the drip coffee maker seem old fashion next to the stove top percolator.

If I understand the use off the different methods you folks have posted are all ONE cup methods is that correct? If thats true then how many times do you all have to make a fresh cup of coffee?
To me just being able to pour a cup of coffee from the pot is easier with less clean up than what you folks are talking about.

Either way we each enjoy the cup of joe in many different ways

For myself and hubby, we each just drink one cup per day, in the morning. So the French Press we have been using is plenty to share.

I leave the pot partially filled with water at home with my cheapie. In my RV it's only plugged in while being used.

Used to use a pour over system, worked fine and grounds could be put in the trash. Now we exclusively use an Aero system when in our Solis Pocket. Heat water either on the stove or plug in a small electric tea kettle if we have shore power. Grounds go into a recyclable bag and either put in the trash or if we are only gone a few days we bring them home and compost them.

Just know that those do run-away, water in pot will not help! The additional load will slow it some maybe, but better to unplug!
