The window in my Sprinter's cargo door is one of those with two small "crank out" vents in the bottom.

One of the cranks has a damaged gear, you can feel the window "slip" as you try to close it.

I've got the glass off the crank, I've got the screws removed that hold the crank to the window, but I cannot figure out how to get the crank itself uninstalled so that I can replace it.

Any advice?

I've got a video showing the setup here: https://youtu.be/a7G1C_xXpqE

and, some photos of the mechanism, and the two points where the axle joins the window frame:

The shaft probably slides out when the window is out. The ends have bearings that support the shaft. That is how dampers in my day job are assembled.

Call Winnebago and ask who the manufacturer is if you don’t find a label. Run it to ground that way to be sure.

I bent the aluminum bar and rebent it to reinstall a new actuator. The aluminum is soft, not hardened and is very easy to bend with your hands. Good luck in fixing your window.

I emailed Winniebago tech support. They reached out to the vendor, and both, together, emailed me back instructions, part #'s, advice... it was an admirable reply.

As it turns out, the secret is, indeed, to just pull the axle out. it's some kind of springy plastic. Replacement axle is about $40, replacement crank is about $9, replacement actuator is about $70 based on Lichstinn's website.

I haven't had the guts to try it yet, but it seems reasonable.

Everybody seems to have problems with these windows. I have 4 going bad.

Winnebago no longer sells or ships parts directly to owners. The guy said he wasn't even supposed to take a "service call" from a customer.

Anyway, bigfatguy, do you think you could post or send those instructions, part numbers, advice etc.

turns out, I was able to find some info.

The crank mechanism I purchased didn't have the square-cut-end they make such a big deal out of... hasn't hurt things any worse.

FWIW, the repair didn't last a year. These windows suck.
