Thank You for adding us. We are excited to start our new adventure in our Winnie.
We have been travleing in our M26 Heartland Mallard travel trailer. We loved it but are ready to have new adventures in our 2006 Sightseer 30B Special Edition. We will be picking it up on 5/21/24 in Ackworth Georiga and going to camp at the "Payne" campground on Lake Allatoona, that is close to the dealership. We are excited to be a part this group, and would appreciate any advice long timer-Winnie owners could share.
Safe travels everyone. Mark & Kim L

One of the more frequent problems I see when folks move from trailer to motorized is a lack of total understanding of the different battery situations!
In the latter, we have three sections of power and they are separated but connected and at different times and different ways, so that it can seem a total nightmare if we try to look at it all at once. The biggest problem seems to be when we store it for longer periods. If we do not really stay aware of the potential for letting one set or the other of batteries run down, we can slip up and ruin the battery for the first year!
Watch the batteries to make SURE they are kept charged!
There are battery disconnects and we may turn those off but the secret is that there are things like safety equipment left ON when we turn the disconnect off!
So little things like turning off the coach battery disconnect can wind up killing us!
We may plug the RV in and know the converter is charging the coach battery, so we want to save some money and lessen the chance of fire, etc. so we turn the disconnect off! Then in the spring we find the batteries are totally dead and damaged because the disconnect DOES disconnect them from many things (like the converter!) but not from the steps, CO and propane detector.

YUP! That's a sure way to kill a battery, so we need to check very carefully until we find what our specific RV does.
Look, ask, and check before assuming things work like expected! :thumb:
