I am the new owner of a 2001 Winnebago Chieftain my first class "A" and I'm looking to connect with other Chieftain Owners out in the RV-verse. Please if you have time drop me a line and would love to know what to expect out of the ole Chief. I appreciate your time and good luck to all you turtle chasers out there.

Your model appears to share several base features with the Vista that we own. Vista 1st year was 2002. We have a 2012.

Hello, my husband and I also just purchased a 2001 Winnebago Chieftain earlier this year. We have been trying to replace some things as we have money. The front side windows were extremely foggy due to broken seals. We just had those replaced last month and it looks so much better and we can actually see the side mirrors more when driving! Currently we have one of the back jacks that will not up into store mode. We’re finding out that parts are hard to find due to the age.
I have been working on the outside by repainting the vinyl decals and also replacing the vinyl stripes. I’m pleased with my progress so far.

My Jack light rarely goes off even though they are all fully retracted. I reckon a sensor issue. I check them and then roll.

We have a 89 Super chief, does not have the jacks on it. We went out with it early'er this month we had a couple of issues, (1) the electric steps stopped working, problem turned out to be the door switch, (2) water pump stopped building pressure, i'm working on that, (3) when we packed up to head home the DC system decided to stop working, that turned out to be the factory installed battery disconnect switch, I ran battery cable from the coach side of the disconnect switch to a + post on the battery, now everything works. I'll need to replace it before winter. Hope this helps someone.
