Has anyone had to replace a headlight on a 2017 Via? Do you have to remove the front cap to get to the headlights.

Greetings MizuTigr76,
I don't see anything specific to your 2017 Via stored on this forum, but this video might be similar to what you will do:

I suspect a 2017 front cap is the same as a 2011. While not easy, you can replace the headlight without removing/unscrewing anything. The Driver's side is much easier than the passenger side. You have to feel around a lot to do it, but it is quite doable. If you have to do the passenger first, look at the driver's side first to see how it clips in.

Are you asking about replacing a lamp or the entire assembly? If it's a lamp, as stated above you can get to it from the back side by removing the rear covers. On the passenger side it helps to remove the fresh air intake hose from the HVAC filter box and push it out of the way.

If it's the entire assembly, yes you need to remove the front nose piece. There are nuts in each fender well, along the front brackets, and screws in the grill plus the wires for the driving lights need to be unplugged and removed from their clips. Two people are best to remove and re-install the nose, the bolts in the fenders stay in place and if you're not careful they can damage the paint. Once you have the nose piece out of the way there are 3 Torx screws holding in each assembly.

PS you may want to remove the hood first unless you have a way to tie it up.

THANKS EVERYONE … I ended up just replacing the bulbs which was easy peasy … Mercedes wanted to replace entire module. It didn’t take 5 minutes to replace the bulbs.
