Headlight Replacement 2005 Journey 36G

Hello, I have a 2005 Winnebago Journey 36g. I need to replace one of my headlights (bit I plan to do both as they are cloudy). Anyways, I read somewhere that the replacement headlights are really the same ones as a Pontiac grand-am (which for the pair is a lot cheaper) than the ones I found. So, before I purchase either one does anyone know, or able to confirm this fact??

Check the DOT and/or other numbers on the headlight.

Instead of buying new headlights, I bought a headlight cleaning kit (approx. $10) from an auto parts store with a toothpaste-like product. The kit comes with a sanding disc that attaches to a drill. I buffed the headlight to remove the haze.

Yes, I have used those kits as well. But one of my lights actually don’t work too.

If you've tested the bulb and it's good, but the light doesn't work, check the ground lead.

If you decide to refurbish your lights, after you sand/polish them back to clear, instead of using a spray or wipe-on coating - which typically only last a year - apply 3M Paint Protection Film (PPF). it's designed to last up to 10 years and when it needs replacement, you simply peel it off, clean the headlight with alcohol, and apply new film. It's pretty easy to do on most headlights. You can get the film on Amazon and I found it helpful to get a kit with installation tools (~$10).

Although it's not as obvious due to their tinted lenses, tail lights get cloudy, too. You can use the same process to refurbish them.
