We are planning to purchase a 2026 2200TBH Micro Minnie, and I will need an easy way to haul 4 adult sized bikes (NOT E-Bikes). Strongly prefer to NOT have to take wheels off, etc. Also prefer to not have to climb on roofs, etc. The 2200TBH has a 350lb rated 2" hitch receiver on the back.
Note we tow with F-150

Option 1:
My preferred method is to get something like the 1UP recon rack, which is RV rated for 4 bikes. However, I've seen may people warn against this as it can reduce the tongue weight ratio by too much. 2200TBH dry hitch weight is 420lbs + 2 propane tanks + battery + gear should bring me to 550lbs+. This seems reasonable to me, but I have never owned a hard-sided RV and would prefer to not buy the rack if it's going to be a nuisance.
Rack is about $1100.
Does anyone do this safely?
1UP Recon Rack

Option 2:
A 2-bike rack in back, and a 2-bike rack over the tongue jack.
Does anyone do this? What racks do you use? and is it a pain to get the bikes down from the front of the camper?
I'm assuming this is going to be $1k+ with two racks

Option 3: on a rack above the bed of the truck
Use billie bars (or something similar with individual bike racks to mount on the bed of the truck.
This starts to kill payload, and is $$$$. Don't love climbing on the truck to get bikes down either.

Thanks!

Mounting 4 bikes to the back of your trailer is likely to cause all kinds of problems with the safety of the trailer AND the bikes.

In my opinion your only choice is to use the bed of your tow vehicle.

The bed of the truck is made for hauling stuff. That's where I would put the bikes. How much do the four bikes and the rack weigh? Are you really going to be that much over payload?

I don’t know if something like this would work. Perhaps I’d reinforce the receiver. We used this pulling a popup but I was thinking of using it for our e-bikes but I couldn’t lift them!

Option 4 is a rack mounted to the front of your F-150. But all that is a big nuisance. The 1up Recon rack holds bikes closer to the front of your vehicle than the typical drop-down rack. I see people here with 4 bikes on those racks all the time now. If worried about tongue weight, load the bikes on the rack and then adjust your weight distribution hitch accordingly.
PS You can’t beat 1up for simplicity, safety and longevity. Mine is 15 years old and performs like new.
