Not my first rodeo, but my most recent, 1997 Brave L29. She has under 60,000 miles, Runs good but needing some TLC . So the adventure begins today, some things cosmetic, some unit mechanical issues. I'll be asking questions galore, seeking knowledge and know how. I look forward to meeting and making new friends along the way.

C ya!

Update

Yesterday's inspection...the step motor is kaput, the furnace exhaust had no screen, was full of dirt daubers, the 18 foot awning head isn't working and the fabric is ripped on both ends, AND, the rear roof air conditioner REALLY lugs down the generator when it's turned on. The plan...first, fix the step issue, REMOVE the awning. The furnace and rear air can get worked on in storage over the winter, then hopefully, adventure ready.

Still trying to figure out how to navigate here. I want to add pictures (attachments ?) but see only a file reference, no pic preview. Suggestions appreciated.

Gotta love Texas, ah?

I kept meaning to add furnace screens and last week on a trip to the Gulf we had a cold snap. I turned on the furnace and rattle, grind, rattle was the initial result.

I thought the only way to access the furnace was to drop it and that required too much work so I called a mobile tech. He showed me an easy way to get in there... d'oh! and once inside found two fist sized dirt dauber nests. Total cost $165. Oh well I learned how to access the innards of the furnace and got the problem fixed for that cost.

Good luck with all the other fixes on that 28 year old coach.

Furnace outlet/inlet

Come on guys, put screens over those, or you will at some time, usually when your freezing and need the furnace, you find out the daubers have clogged one or both. I see rigs all the time without them Duh? They are cheap.
My rig has the auto hot water system and the do make a square screen that covers most of the outlet, but since it is a closed system, I don't worry too much about it, but I put one on anyway.
