once upon a time in a land far far away....

actually Milwaukie, Oregon. I had no idea my path would cross with a forum community of RVers. I have been part of a few other hobby forums (RC toys, Light-sabers, etc.) in the past, but it wasn't until more recently that my wife and I thought about utilizing an RV in the transition from city to country living.

As I write this now, my wife, oldest son and oldest daughter are checking out our 2016 MW 31K. My other three children are sleeping which gives the others some quieter "grown-up" time.

We just drove it home today after a private purchase. Having never driven a large vehicle like that before, the traffic coming home from Hillsboro through Portland to Milwaukie was suprisingly smooth. I was holding my breath on a few turns in the city...and the rain didn't help either. The flow of water off of the top onto the front windshield made me thankful we didn't have a front window up there in the sleeping area above the driver. Anywho, we made it home and parked it on the street by our house. Tomorrow we will secure a leased spot as we don't have room here at our current house.

We are super thankful to have the opportunity to spend time together while all my children age 2.5-13 are still under our roof. We are making steps towards a wintery NE Oregon residence adventure.

I will be seeking general Nooby noob noob-type things and info/advise regarding the climate in the Wallowa area.

Hi Sasquatch,
Not being from this planet either (actually, I was born somewhere in the Ford Galaxy) I can relate to your sentiment. What a wonderful blessing it is to have five children! Also, I never really thought much was Minnie about a 31K Minnie Winnie; it is one big motorhome! However, for a family of seven, it is just right.
A very Bigfoot welcome to the Forum.

We have a 2016 Minnie Winnie 27Q which is your 31K's slightly smaller brother. We absolutely love our rig and hope you grow to love yours too.

We've made several additions and modifications to make things more comfortable, convenient, and useful. Don't be the least bit hesitant to make your rig your own.

Tons RV parts and accessories are available on Amazon (some specific for the E450 chassis) and Camping World (be kind of judicious with that one), as well as other sources.

Unless you have lots of money, expect to roll up your sleeves and dive deep into DIY fixes and projects.

Welcome aboard!!!

Thank you Eaglle5 and akeagle for welcoming me aboard! It's funny and coincidental that you two would welcome me here as I go by the nickname Bald Eagle. We must be connected somehow somewhere! Thanks again for the kind thoughts and words.
