We are headed for Freightliner in Gaffney on the 25th of June for M3 maintanance and a wheel alignment, and was looking for a good restaurant to eat at in the area. I saw a post a while back about a steakhouse that wasn't much to look at but the steaks were to die for. Any help out there with this or any other good restaurant?
Thank you in advance

Bob,

Check out the answer from Historyljc (Jim) in the camping section under the June travels thread. I had asked the same question. You might also want to check out Harolds downtown.

Mike

We did not eat at Harolds in downtown Gaffney but saw the segment on Food Network's 'Drive-ins, Diners and Dives.' The folks at Freightliner recommended Harolds as a great place for breakfast.

Bob,

When you get the damages from Freightliner for the M3 service would you share please, if you don't mind.

Bob,

I'm going to quote historyljc:
"While you're there, go north on Rt 11 (the Service Center/Camp Freightliner is on Rt 11) about 8 or so miles to the Rt 11 Cafe. Best melt in you mouth steaks this side of heaven. Filet Mignon that would feed a family of four for about $16. It's an old converted wooden general store/gas station. It's a "don't miss" food stop!"
and
"The steaks at Route 11 Cafe are on par with or better than Ruth's Chris & J Alexander. You don't get the fancy dinning room, tuxedoed waiters, or the high prices. We were there on a Saturday evening. There was about a 20-25 minute wait. To ease the pain of waiting they had 3 pitchers of different flavors of V8 Smoothies iced down along with a big platter of a variety of cookies (good ones, not the cheap stuff) to take the edge off if desired. Help yourself while sitting on one the benches or in one of the rockers on the porch."

We are going in October and, per his recommendation, it will be a MUST GO for us. Now we will also have to try Harolds!

Tom,

Thanks for that info. Gaffney is our favorite place to go for service on the rig that I cannot/elect not to do and we will surely try that place when we go back.
