Anyone have a recommendation for a fuel stabilizer for those periods that your gas motorhome sits between trips?

What is this "sitting" thing?:nonono:

I usually pour a gallon or so of Seafoam in mine right before the last fillup of the season and make sure I run the generator for a good hour to pull that into the system. FWIW I live in the Deep South so I can usually camp all year round. We do slow down from Nov-February. However, I do take the rig for a spin at least once a month and run the generator under a load at the same time.

I go visit my Adventurer every 25-30 days while in storage. I run the engine, the generator and even the A/C-Heat Pumps. I pull the motorhome forward out of it's parking place. And occasionally, if I don't have a trip planned for a lengthy period, I will take it out on the highway and drive it 10 to 30 miles.

This, I feel, negates the need for fuel additives. So, far, after 7 years this has worked well for me.

Never been a fan of Seafoam as it is little more than light oil and Coleman fuel

StaBil is quite different

Pretty much says it all, Creative. Thanks!

At $8/pint-$64/G isn't that rather expensive fuel treatment just for storage? Especially when 4-6 oz. Biobor will do the same thing.

I was running it through the generator, which can be a problem child. I use a gallon on a nearly empty tank, then top the fuel tank up. I was paying about $32 a gallon the last time I checked. Cheaper than dealing with a misbehaving generator. I use Stabil in all of my smaller equipment, all the time. I have used it in vehicles that were going into storage.

I didn't even know Biobor made a gasoline product, I use the Biobor JF in my diesels but I'll have to check the gasoline product. Been using Star Tron for my gasoline supply that I keep around for my portable generator and my pressure washer.

Way back when the EPA manadated the removal of lead from gasoline I used Insteadilead gas treatment. That product is NLA so i use BioboEB now in my 1932 Chevrolet Confederate BA sedan gas tank to counter the effects of ethanol and methanol in todays gasoline.

There are lots of options out there on this and many may be correct. For 25 years I’ve used Stabil in my tanks. Never had a storage issue , use it in potable generators too, so that’s my go to.

I use Lucas. 1/2 gal per 100gals fuel. I'm a big Seafoam fan on most my stuff...

Star Tron and Stabil are the two most recommended by marine mechanics. I use Star Tron in everything from my lawn mower to my motor home.

Been using Star Tron Enzymes for years with 100% success in all my toys. As far as the generator there is a splice right by the fuel pump for it, I simply pull it apart and it will run out of fuel now the carb is empty and no worries of gumming up. The fuel pump side wire is long enough that it will reach the power wire for the solenoid, simply put it on there and prime it before starting, reconnect the splice and it fires right up.

I'm surprised all the additives haven't been tagged as nothing but snake oil yet. I disagree, but others swear by no additive is just as good. Obviously with diesel at the very least anti gel is needed in cold climates, the rest, idk. I've put seafoam in everything but my motorhome. I have a lot of stuff that I dump it in. I've had no issues with any as far as fuel. Does it help? No idea. But I'm a believer that if it isn't broke don't fix it....
