Fuel Shut Off Switch

Where is the Fuel Shut Off Switch on the 2000 Winnebago (Adventurer) Ford Chasis ??

Can’t say I’ve ever heard of a Fuel Shut Off Switch on an Adventurer. What exactly are you after? Are you looking for a propane switch, fuel to the engine, or perhaps fuel to the generator? Let us know.

The fuel shutoff switch on our 01 Adventurer (Ford Chassis) is on the front vertical panel just to the right of the accelerator pedal. It's a small rectangular black box with a plunger sticking out the top. It's called a rollover switch in that the plunger is supposed to pop out and shut off the fuel supply (by shutting off the electricity to the fuel pump) in the event of a rollover.

For the one who has not heard of a fuel cut off switch.

Ford and GM have different ways of doing things.. In part I suspect due to the exploding Pintos of several years ago, FORD has a fuel cut off switch, This switch shuts off the in-tank fuel pump in the event of an accident or rollover in order to reduce the odds of a fire.

Simply hitting a pot hole can trip the switch,,You do not need to have an accident.

Thus, if you drive a FORD. it pays to know where the switch is

Wife used to drive a Mercury Tracer (Ford Escort re-labled) and on two occasions when I had to drive it due to my car being in the shop I hit a pot hole (Same dang pot hole) and took out that switch.

Thankfully. I knew where to find it.

Thanks wa8yxm, I did not know that. I was thinking valve, not roll over switch, and I have only seen the remote switch for the LP.

We had a 2009 Adventurer and never had a fuel problem but we did have an electrical issue where the engine torque would cause the starter's hot lead to contact the chassis. Started and ran fine until trying to pull a grade. Then the engine would start to falter as it arced.

You are welcome.. When i was a police dispatcher we had quite a few Ford Owners who were in minor "Fender Bender" type accidents, car was 100% driveable but would not run.. I'd call, usually Hertz since it was "After hours" when I worked, they'd pull the owner's manual for that car and tell me where the button was.. Very nice folks at Hertz. Very helpful. Enterprise was another source of assistance

An Oregon campground host recently posted about a camper coming in with a new Monaco who couldn't turn off his diesel engine. Said they finally shut off the fuel supply to the engine, (exhaust pipe tip had fallen off blowing hot exhaust up the inside of the back cap burning many wires and fuses). Never did hear how they did that or where a fuel shut off valve might be on a diesel RV.
Any ideas how the diesel fuel supply can be shut off, other than letting the tank run dry?
