Recently purchased a 2000 Winnebago journey 36L, first mileage check indicated 10.65 mpg. I know it will take several more to establish an average, but can anyone tell me what is normal on this MH. It is the cummins 5.9 275 hp with allison 4 speed. Thanks
Thought I would add on edit: I have done a search since I posted this and I have gotten my answers, thanks anyway.

I just traded a rig like that in. Over the last 14,000 miles towing a 97' Saturn I averaged 10.48. I tried to keep my speed at around 64 MPH.

We have an '01 Journey 32T and have over 50K miles and have driven in every terrain this country has to offer. On fill-ups we average from 10-12 mpg consistently. We tow a Jimmy.

The 2K Journey's engine is sufficiently broken in at this point so you should be seeing a pretty good number at this point. It can only get better or worse depending on speed, weather conditions and terrain.

I have a 2004 34H journey with the 350 CAT. After 5K miles my average is only 7.8 - far off the mark of 10+. Is it going to get better?

I sure wish I could get 10 MPG on my 04 Journey 36G. The best I can do is about 7.5 but only have about 5K miles on the rig. Sure hope it will get better.

bobpie, my search showed the mileage from 8 to 12 mpg, seems to be the same on these responses here, I will be a happy camper if I get 10 or 12. This coach only has 22000 miles on it so the engine isnt completly broken in yet. Time will tell, thanks for the help.

7.5 is about what we are getting. The unit has 6000 miles on it now. I guess this is what i expected. People say it will get better. But I am not sure about that.

When we talk about mileage, we should talk about, towing/not, speed, terrain. Hills can do a number on mileage. I used to think that the extra fuel burned on the way up was saved on the way down, but it does not exactly work that way. I get 7 to 8, towing, mostly flat land, with a lead foot.

I guess the bottem line is, if we get 7 or 12 mpg it wont matter, we are still going to go and enjoy it as if it were the last thing we are going to do.

We have a 04 Journey 39K with 330hp Cat. In California where the speed limit is 55 (62 to me) when you are towing and 65-70(70-75 to me) when you are solo, I get the same mileage with or without our 99 Grand Cherokee behind us: 7.8 mpg. In Nv and Arizona at higher speeds with tow, it will be 6.5-7.1mpg. Like to see it get higher, but I think the answer is to slow down...bummer.

We have a 2002 39QD w/a 330 CAT. It ha 18,800 miles. We just returned from a 3 month winter trip to Florida. On the Interstates we got consistantly between 9+9.5 mpg at 60-64 mph. This is the best its ever been. On the slower roads 7.5 mpg. They say its gets better as you put more miles on. Now all we have to do is get the fuel prices down!!! I am glad I'm not an independant trucker.

I have an 03 Journey DL36LD with a 330 cat engine and 6 speed allison transmission. It averages slightly over 10 mpg with or without the Saturn L300W dinghy. We usually run about 60-65 mph.
