When I fuel up the dash gauge always reads between 3/4 and full even if I attempt to top-off. Is this something to worry about or not? It has been this way for the year that we have have owned it as second owners. We never let the tank go below 1/4. Thanks, Joe

Hi Joe... your problem might be that you aren't really getting your tank full at all. Freightliner/Winnie had problems with a run of coaches where the vent tube was insufficient causing the tanks to really get pretty blocked up when there was still 10 gallons of available space.

I had my entire fuel tank replaced here in Arizona for that problem... under wty. Now it's much better and I can now get a full reading! :thumb:

I should add that I have put my ear near the fill pipe and I can hear the change in the sound as it gets close to turning off so maybe it really is getting closer to full than the gauge shows. I doubt if our 2008 is under the factory warranty anymore and maybe I'm just too obsessive about things working perfectly. Thanks for the replies. Joe

Only way to know is to keep filling SLOWLY until you see the fuel in the fill pipe...

Or you drive till you run dry and see if the amount going in agrees with the tanks capacity...

On my MH on the fuel sender there is a small screw adjustment to adjust the fuel gauge reading. There was a lable on it to tell you which screw to adjust. Mine is adjusted so I actually have more fuel in the tank than the gauge indicates. Better that way then the other way around.

I had my fuel tank replaced on my 2007 under warranty too.

Call Freightliner with your VIN number and they will tell you over the phone. It doesn't hurt to ask!

The next time that I fuel up I will use a flashlight to check the level in the fill pipe.

Could you explain in more detail where I can find this adjustment screw? Where is the fuel sender? Maybe mine would have that adjustment also? Thanks, Joe

Mine was accessed thru the storage bay next to the fuel tank. It is on the right lower side of the tank. You will just have to crawl around by the tank and look for some wires coming from the tank. There should be a sender unit bolted to the tank about 2 or 3 inches in dia. Mine had some small adjustment screws on it. 2 or 3 maybe. One of them was labled to adjust the full level on the gauge. Yours might be different. I have a 2000 Monaco.
