Members report persistent water overflow from the fridge/freezer drip tray in a 2014 Winnebago Sightseer 30A, especially when running on LP mode. The main concern is the lack of evaporation and frequent defrosting, leading to water dripping from the exterior access panel. Experienced RVers clarify that the defrost cycle and water accumulation are more influenced by humidity and how often the fridge doors are opened, rather than whether the unit is running on AC or LP.

2014 Winnebego Sightseer 30A: On our recent trip, water was dripping out of the outside access door to the fridge/freezer components. I opened the access cabinet and drained the water collection tray. But It seemed to continue defrosting quite often (if not continually).

Is there a difference in the unit's need to defrost between using the AC and LP modes? I wouldn't think so. (On this trip we primarily used the LP mode.) The drip tray in the outside cabinet is constantly over filling with no apparent evaporation. Is this the way these units work? Doesn't sound right.

Quick solution! Remove the drain tube from the evaporation cup and run the tube through a louver in the access door. That's how Dometic does it at the factory, so we know it works.

My coach is far different from yours but...there is a drain tube in mine coming out the bottom rear of the tray (hard to see) and mine plugged up and flooded the tray. On our coach the tube is on the rear of the tray and has a rubber tube that dangles down in front of the rear tires.

Defrosting and the amount of water being drained off is really about humidity and how much the refrigerator doors are opened allowing frost to build up. So, the amount of water can vary. But if it seems to overflow a lot, a solution that many use is to extend the drain hose to the outside of the access door.

sorry it's late at night... the drip pan has a drain hole with a tube attached. That tube gets plugged with (let's just call it stuff). It took me about an hour to un-stuff the stuff in that tube last spring to get the water to start draining again.

Also if you have moisture on the inside ceiling of the refrigerator your doors to the refrigerator might not be shutting all the way. So you will be filling up the tray in the refrigerator more. On mine I have to remember to push the door it till I hear the click.
