Being a new RV owner, you all may know this, I didn't. If this is a repeat of old new, apologies.

If you service your rig yourself, a Fumoto drain valve makes it simple. Main reason is that the 6.8L drain plug sits above the cross member and sway bar and at best is a mess to do. Almost want to say all engineers should be a mechanic for a month, but that's a different topic.

Connect a 3/8" plastic hose to the port and run it into an 8 quart container (I use a 2 gal old gas container), crack open the oil fill, open the port, no fuss, no muss. For the oil filter, I cut the bottom off a gal water container and let the filter drain. You arm will get tired, so have some rags available. And it will drip (run) onto the crossmember so a big pan will keep the oil off the driveway. Have the new filter preloaded and bring it underneath with you to save the trips going up, down, over and under.

For safety sake, I put a 12 ton bottle jack under the crossmember after I have the front hydraulics do a lift for the room for my stomach to clear the front cowling.
When finished, I use the same bottle jack to get a tire off the ground and grease the king pins and the rest of the front suspension.
Recommendation: the drag link will have a straight zerk that you can't get to unless you crank the wheel for access. Put a 90° zerk in it's place and it's two less trips, two less change of gloves.

Go to their website, enter your vehicle info and they will match it up.
I was skeptical from experience with trying to match drain plugs. Go to a dealer and they'll ask you what size and even then it will be wrong. This thing matched right up and for me worth every dollar for I wear out drain plugs doing PMs. I have no association with Fumoto and just wanted to share.

When I had the Thor ACE I had the same problem. You are correct on the Fumoto. Works great and makes the oil go where its supposed to.

I've had one on our 2006 Sightseer 29R for years. What I find confusing is the need for jacking anything up at all. The MH oil change is the easiest of them all (Jeep Wrangler is next) as there is plenty of space for me to get under there without needing ramps or a lift.

FWIW: I installed one of these drain valves on my 2020 Winnebago Navion Sprinter Mother Benz 642 Diesel V6 engine which holds 12.5 quarts of oil. Has proven to be a jewel. Previously when the OEM oil drain plug was removed the oil literally sprayed out of the oil pan all over the ground. Not any more.

Now I simply add a short length of plastic tubing to the FUMOTO valve, the other end into my plastic container, open the valve and leave for about ten minutes while I drain the oil from the generator. No leaks when closed. This and the Li Battery swap are the two best changes made to my Navion.

I also have the Fumoto valve. For the filter, I've been able to set an oil drain pan on top of the cross member to catch the oil coming out of it.

I don't raise mine any either. I can pretty much sit under mine with my back against the driver side tire while doing the oil filter.
