Have a lot to learn. and figure out My wife has rheumatoid arthritis. Where can I get replacement handles that will be easier for her to open. Also, is there a checklist for do's & don'ts and must haves to pack? Such as little patience when starting the generator. On shore power is there a 'better' way to turn the AC off? If we are on city water is there a potential problem if the house pump is on? Where do you store the shore power cable and potable water hose?
Looking forward to our new adventures!
Thanks

There is a lot to learn with a new motorhome. That's for sure.

Try YouTube for videos advising new RVers on getting ready to go away in your RV.

As, to replacement handles, there's no one place you'll have to do some searching and trying many different search terms for whatever items you're looking for. www.recpro.com has lots of varied items. Whether they'll work for you or not... no clue?

Best practice is to leave the pump off when on city water. Some will tell you it's no problem but for many of us this has caused issues with the check valve inside the pump.

Where to store things????? Trial and error, use your best judgement.

You mention starting the generator and that always triggers me!
When we think of electrical things like motors or the starter, it is always good practice to give them as much power as it needs to do the job well.
One thing often missed is that low voltage is far more problems for starting motors than higher voltage. Just right is best, so one way to make sure we get the best and not overwork the starter on the generator is to first start the RV engine!
That engine is likely to start very much easier than the generator for several reasons. One is that we likely do it much more often and the fuel is already to go when we start to crank!
When we have that main engine running, the alternator is connected to both sets of RV batteries. That means the starter on the generator is almost certain to have plenty of good steady power to crank and start the generator as quick as possible!

Instead of trying to start the gen first and possibly running the coach batteries down, first start the engine and THEN the gen! It won't take near so much patience that way!

Meanwhile be aware of the Winn home sites for links to lots of different info. Thinks under the "owners" tab can get you to manuals, electrical and plumbing drawings and info and lots of other good stuff to know!
