Filling fresh water tank, 2008 View

I have so much trouble filling my fresh water tank. I end up all wet as the water either squirts out or seems not to have enough pressure. It looks like there might be some sort of little ring/valve inside the opening. I have tried a blue bandit, water regulator, and a clear nozzle contraption. I love my View, new to me last May. But like all RVs there is such a long learning curve!

It's possible that the "little ring/valve", which is a check valve allowing water flow in only one direction (hopefully into the tank) is broken or installed backwards. Yes, backwards. I had that problem with my black tank flush valve on a brand new Itasca Spirit. It also has a different kind of check valve installed on the flush line. I'd really consider checking into the backwards installation of that "little ring/valve".
